AA1142 Frequently Asked Questions
I have a SONY HC22E Handycam, I've heard that a i.LINK cable is a better
cable to use for video editing on a computer the only trouble is I don't think
I have a port for this cable. Is there an adapter for a USB port or any thing
like that, or does it mean that I'll only be able to use a USB connection to do
my editing? I can't seem to get a good picture quality with the set up at the
moment can you help ?
An i.Link cable is able to transfer the data from your Handycam faster than a
USB cable. There is no difference in the picture quality as the same information
is transferred by both cables. Some Handycam will reduce the quality to ensure
a fast transfer of data over USB. In this case just configure the Handycam for
maximum picture quality. We have never seen a USB to firewire converter. You will
need to add a i.Link port to your computer.
My Camcorder, i.e. JVC gr-dx100ek only has a Firewire,
i.Link interface only. Can I connect this is to a
USB port?
No - We have never seen a USB to Firewire adapter or converter. You will need
to upgrade your PC with a Firewire port.
