Hi, I have a small business with a Toshiba DK 40i ... in my old office I
had the phones wired directly to the DK40i .. I now have cat5e structured cabling
in the new office ... do I just use a LAU to enable the Toshiba phones to plug
into the RJ45. Also is it 4 and 3 I connect to the dk40i from the patch panel
... sorry if the terminology is incorrect!!
Usually, on a PABX you will need 6 connections per phone. You should check with
Toshiba as to which LAU you require. Usually you will require PABX master but
sometimes the PABX require secondary LAUs.
Is it possible to connect multiple phones to a single BT phone line using
a domestic, 100 baseT wired network?
Yes. We suggest you parallel connect the some RJ45 sockets on your patch panel.
Connect from the BT socket to one of the parallel sockets with our AA1824
and a standard network
cables. Then, connect the extension to one other the paralleled sockets with
a standard network
cables. Terminate the other end of the RJ45 socket with AA1193.
I have an all in one printer to which I need to connect my answer phone.
The printer has a small hole for the socket for the telephone wire. Input and
my answer machine has an ordinary phone socket, output. What adapter do I need
to connect the two?
We believe your require our RJ11 plug to UK
telephone socket adapter, AA1566.
I'm looking to use my wired network to move a wireless phone network upstairs.
I need an adapters to connect the BT line-in to the network, and an adapter to
connect the base-station to the network. Which adapters do I need?
From the BT master socket your will need our BT
to RJ45 adapter AA1824. From this you use a RJ45
to RJ45 network cable to plug the phone connection into your network. At the
other end of the dedicated link you use a full
master AA1193 termination. In to this you connect you phone equipment. Ensure
that no other network equipment is connected to this link.
I need to connect a cable modem into my router. However the only output
from my modem is an RJ45, but the only input into the router is from a phone cable.
Two options:
A) Buy a new router for use with the modem
B) Plug the modem into one of the network ports on the router. One or the RJ45
you usually connect your PC into.
NOTE. This might require reconfiguration of your network settings. Especially
any firewall settings.
I have just moved into a new office. My fax machine has a continual engaged
tone. The manufacturer tells me I need an adapter. I think its a PABX but not
sure which one?
Is your fax machine connected to your PABX?
Yes, then you will need to configure the line to be a FAX line and fit a "secondary".
Is the fax machine connected to directly going outside?
Yes, then you will need to identify why another telephone is connected to the
line
I need to connect my sky box to my phone line through our network. The network
goes straight back into our phone line which is shared with our phones. I assume
its the normal full master one I use?
It sounds as if your telephones are connected to a PABX.
In this case you will need to configure the PABX
to supply a PSTN line, also know
as a "simple pots" extension". You then simply plug your sky box
in with our part AA1193.
It it compatible with ISDN phones?
No, they are not compatible with ISDN phones. I believe ISDN phone require a dedicated
ISDN telephone line which can be connected directly to a structured wired system.
