I recently bought a three way cable with various sized heads on it, having been assured it would link my Original Gameboy and my brothers Gameboy Advance together. However, I cannot get it to work. Will this one, or is it the same cable except with four heads? (I am trying to trade between Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Red, using the Time Capsule in Pokemon Gold.)

When using the Gameboy link cable does each console have to have the game "installed" or does it work if only one console actually has the game on it?
