I would like to extend my existing fax machine telephone cable. I tried a four core but it did not work. Do I require a 6 core cable?
No, We have never seen a fax machine requiring 6 core cable.

My broadband will not work with my current telephone extension lead, is this because the telephone lead is four core and not six?
No 6 core cables are used on office telephone exchanges, PABXs. The extra two wires are used for telephone features, i.e. call hold, call transfer, party calling etc.
