AA1832 and AA2256 Frequently Asked Questions
How can you connect 2 monitors to 1 PC with these leads, they are not long
enough?
You will require two further SVGA,
VGA leads, of the correct length to connect from the splitter to each monitor.
Could there be a resolution problem if the 2 screen do not have the same
resolution?
Yes, the two monitors must support the resolution as provided by the graphics
card.
Does this splitter and the SVGA cables that you sell, work at XGA resolution?
Yes, we do stock XGA specification cable and splitters.
This splitter is not suitable for XGA but our AA2256
is.
For cables you should choose the black range of cables and not the beige. The
black range can be found
here.
Can I have a 1 programs running on 1 monitor and 1 program on another?
No, this adapter connects two monitors to the same output.
Can this cable be used the other way round, i.e. to have a choice of 2 PCs
to connect to a projector? What would happen if both PCs were accidentally on
together?
No, we suggest you the switch
box AA1700. It is never a good idea to connect two outputs, i.e. Monitor outputs
together.
Will there be any degradation of image quality when connecting two monitors
to a PC using a VGA splitter cable?
There could be degradation of image for:
- Long runs, should be OK for monitor cables up to about 20M. After this you
might need to boost the VGA signal.
- Difference in monitor cable lengths (i.e. one at 2M and the other at 20M).
The could be difference in colour between the two monitors. This is a function
of the monitor signal down the cable. You might be able to adjust any colour differences
at the monitor.
